With the outburst of the energy crisis in the seventies, people paid attention to the economy of the engine more and more, and the enhancement of the environmental consciousness of various countries day by day, in order to reduce the air pollution, the discharge performance of engine obtains higher and higher attention. Helical intake port as one of the important components of small-cylinder diameter direct injection diesel engine, its geometry decides the coming air quality and swirl intensity into the cylinder of the process of intake, which have deep influences on the diesel's excellent performances. Therefore the design of helical intake port plays an important part in the exploitation of ICE.The traditional port design method adopts experiential design and repeating experiments on the steady flow test-bed, and then corrects port's geometry time after time. The whole exploitation has blindness and limitation, not only needs a long period and spends too much, but also hard to get the ideal scheme.Through the three-dimensional numerical simulation of the gas flow coming into intake port, gets the flux coefficient,swirl ratio and the distributing of pressure,velocity and flux and so on, moreover builds the relationship among port's geometry, the law and trait of gas flow . That will proves evidence for the design and amelioration of intake and exhaust ports.In this thesis, firstly take the steady flow test on the practical helical intake port of 135 type diesel engine, and obtain the appraising parameter (flux coefficient and swirl ratio) at different lift. Then resort to CAD software-Pro/E and three-dimensional numerical simulation technology CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to gets the detailed distribution of pressure field, velocity field and flux field, and the same appraising parameter as the test. Then compare the relative error among test,experience and simulating computation. In the allowable scale of error, use Pro/E to modify the geometry of original intake port and compute their appraising parameter with STAR-CD, aim to research 135 type helical intake port and provide the reliable model for practical production.This research has a close connect with practical production. The meaning of that paper is that combines the intake port steady flow test and CFD simulation, validate the correctness of modify intake port with CFD, and provide a fast and effective method for the design of port.
