The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) Space Detector Experiment is an internationally cooperated experiment led by Prof. C. C Ting to search for antimatter and dark matter, which is the only experiment on the International Space Station. AMS is a large spectrometer firstly to be sent into the space for scientific experiment. For AMS-02, the most crucial part of it is the super-conducting magnet. The Cryogenic Ground Supporting Equipment developed by Shanghai Jiaotong University is an important system for the cooling, testing as well as the charging of super fluid Helium before the AMS-02 is launched to the space. The implementation of this project will be a great contribution to the fundamental research of the AMS.From designing and manufacturing point of view, CGSE System can be divided into two parts—CGSE Mechanical System (CGSE-MS) and CGSE Electronics System (CGSE-ES). CGSE-ES is an important sub-system of CGSE to finish measure, control, communication and monitor task, it can be divided into two parts furtherly—Controller System (CGSE-ES-CON-S) and Communication Interface (CGSE-ES-COM-IF), the former controls CGSE-MS and the latter offers a communication interface between CGSE and other sub-system of AMS-02.This paper focuses on the design and implementation of key functional modules in CGSE Control System, including designs of distributed redundant control system, control algorithm, HMI system, communication interfaces and so on. Hardware design of the system—Siemens S7-400H redundant PLC is applied as the controller, with distributed signal-collecting stations cascaded through Profibus network, and the communication between PLC and IPC is realized through Siemens CP5613A2 card. PCs equipped with EPP-CAN Boxes and Ethernet-Cards link both CAN and Ethernet, thus making up the Communication Interface System. Software design of the system...
