| "Goddess in the moon" project has started up in 2004, So it is pressing to develop innovative lunar rover with freedom knowledge property right and excellent performance. Lunar rover is a mobile robot exploring harsh lunar environment. Rover development involves many new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, auto-control, framework, communication, computer science, etc. The locomotion system is the basic and important subsystem of lunar rover. The rover performance and task life decide whether the exploration mission would succeed.This article provides a virtual prototyping of lunar rover. Firstly, it is remarked with initiative ideas for designing framework by setting up a virtual prototyping of lunar rover on the basis of meeting requirements of functions, which puts the emphasis on active surmounting obstacles and moving track of front body by academic analysis and with the propose of providing a spared scheme for walking system. Secondly, the research on separated box lunar rover is to prove the features of its walking technique. Finally, simulation experiments are used to prove the advantages of walking function, walking ability and walking controlling. That provides academic basis of easy scheme of program for better performance of walking system. The main task in the following article is to give out a new virtual of lunar rover, lays out the model of virtual prototyping, analyzes its kinematics and conducts experiments of avoiding obstacle methods and ability of steering in ADAMS. |
