When a fault or disturbance occurs in power system, intelligent electronic devices such as microprocess-based protective relays and digital fault recorders will record huge amount of data. For effective acquisition and good use of these data, power grid fault information systems have been constructed in recent years. Although they have helped a lot, it is still poor in full use of fault data and accuracy of fault diagnosis.This thesis is focused on the research of the application of data mining and information fusion technologies in power grid fault information system, mainly from two aspects, one is the off-line analysis, and the other is the on-line fault diagnosis.Regarding the off-line analysis, the research object is the historial fault data collected and stored by power companies for many years.
