The roller compaction concrete dam (RCCD) has become the preferred dam type because of its merits. Compared with Conventional construction method, the concrete face wall meet the merit of accelerated construction of RCCD, which has successfully applied to upper stillwater dam,Khlong thadan dam, it is no application at home, and there are short of project date and calculation about dam structure. China the fifteenth bureau of water resources and hydroelectric project construction and Xi'an university of technology have researched application of the concrete face wall in RCCD.This paper is one of the cooperation research, which has considered the dam of RCCD which has used the concrete face wall as main research object, and adopted three dimensional finite element analysis to study whole dam in time of construction and sluice. The dam's constructed simulate calculation is a coupling process of caloric-stress, following the practical construction program in the process of analysis, such factors are considered as lift placement of concrete, the placing temperature, thickness of lifts time interval between lifts the different material in the dam, and discussed temperature filed and stress of dam. During the sluice time, such factors to dam structure are considered as gravity, hydrostatic pressure, silt pressure, etc, and discussed stress and stain of dam.Combined with actual project — the second dam of Long-qiao water power station (RCCD which has used the concrete face wall), this paper firstly Adopt the ANSYS software to study construction simulation analysis. To have drawn some conclusion as following: temperature grad is bigger near upstream and downstream; the dam and the wall have not separate in the sluice time, it is to be known that the dam has not destroyed because of distortion; the dam's stress and stain are meted the useful request. The calculation result of the whole dam is reasonable and accords with actual instance.The studying result indicates that the RCCD which has applied the concrete face wall has achieved criterion request in the adaptability on structure, whose calculates and analyses process have important guiding significance and reference value to actual project.
