Seepage is a common problem of earth and rockfill dams, it is harmful to the safety of the dam when the seepage is serious. The high pressure circular jet grouting diaphragm wall is popular in seepage reinforcement engineering of earth and rockfill dams because it is chip and easy to build. At present, the damaged dams always have the seepage problem, and the research about the estimate of the seepage reinforcement, so it is essential to study the seepage problem of earth and rockfill dam and the estimate of the seepage reinforcement.A FEM (Finite Element Method) governing equation for 2-D saturated and unsaturated seepage problem, based on basic seepage equation, is presented by applying Galerkin Method and can be applied in simulating 2-D seepage problems. In anglicizing the reinforced earth and rockfill dams by underground diaphragm wall, the software SEEP/W is used.In this paper, each factor which affects seepage of earth and rockfill dam is comprehensive analyzed, using the saturated and unsaturated basic seepage equation. The seepage reinforcement engineering of reservoir reinforced by underground diaphragm wall are simulated using the FEM software SEEP/W, the effects of impermeable wall, reservoir itself and dam and foundation are analyzed. It is indicated that the construction quality of the wall is most affected the reinforcement, water level is also a significant factor from the results. Each factor which affects seepage of earth and rockfill dam is analyzed; the result can be used for reinforcement of other disease dams.
