The plunge pool with inverted-arch type is a new style of plunge pool, the safety of which under high speed flow is the key to realize energy dissipation. In recent years, a batch of high dams of 300m-level is under construction in China, and the problem of energy dissipation is critical and prominent. The existing study results show that the plunge pool with inverted-arch type is the most competent container of energy dissipation for"confined valley, great water flux and high arch dam". The stability of lining structure in the plunge pool with inverted-arch type is one problem that needs to be solved in practice. Based on the plunge pool with inverted-arch type for Laxiwa arch dam, this paper studies the integral stability, the local stability of inverted-arch slabs and the dynamic response in the period of flood discharge through numerical analysis method. The main harvests of this dissertation include as follows:(1)The integral stability of plunge pool with inverted-arch type is just the stability of the whole arch ring, and mainly due to arch support. Otherwise, the stability of arch support is controlled by arch abutment thrust. This paper analyzes the influencing factor of arch abutment thrust, like uplift pressure, anchoring, the thickness of slabs and so on.(2)The integral stability of plunge pool with inverted-arch type is also associated with the extent of the arch abutment gap. The stopcocks of slabs work completely well in most circumstances, slabs can't make"arch"effect with the dynamic water pressure of the top surfaces. In this condition, the arch abutment and the arch support may produce gap. When the stopcocks of slabs don't work well, the uplift pressure will act on the bottom surface of slabs, here the slabs can't make the whole ring because of over-big gap, and the slabs can't display"arch"effect, the stability of the slabs is under threaten, which is the problem that engineering department is worrying about. Therefore, this paper makes a fine study on the arch abutment gap and its influencing factor under the effect of negative load.(3)The instances that the project don't work normally because of the damage of the slabs are commonly occurred, the specific behavior is from single slab lifted to many slabs damaged, and the loss is very severe.
