The marine power system automation is the important constituent of the marine automation, also is the only way to ensure the reliability and continuance of power supplies.The distributed control system based on fieldbus becomes the development tendency of the the marine power system automation in nowadays.CAN (Controller Area Network) bus is a kind of fieldbus which mainly uses in equipment examination and control field, and be a kind of serial communication protocol based on multi- hosts way. It effectively supports the distributional real-time control to be able to guarantee the high data integrity. It has the characteristic of low cost, fast speed, high real-time and reliablity. It is convenience for customer to define and extend their own application by the opening protocol of CANbus.According to the Dalian economical committee project: "development of automatic control device for marine power system based on network ". This thesis has designed an automatic control device for marine power system based on CAN-bus.The main content includes: The design of hardware circuit of automatic control device for marine power system; The design of hardware circuit of CAN-bus between the two generator controllers, and hardware circui between the generator controllers with the cenrtralized monitoring station. This thesis introduces the CAN-bus technology and the high-layer protocol .There are two kind of adopted protocols in this thesis. They are the CAN basic protocol which used in two units of generator controller and the CANopen protocol which used on the cenrtralized monitoring station. This thesis designs the CAN communication software for the unit of generator controller, including the initialization of CAN controller, the transmission and reception of messages.
