With the development of automotive electronics and embedded technology,automotive electronics are moving towards digital,network and intelligentdirection.The CAN bus became one of the most suitable bus system because ofits low cost,high reliability and real-time performance characteristics.As one ofthe key technology of electric vehicle battery management system,it determinesthe performance and the service life of the battery,and determines theperformance and the cost of the electric car,battery management system based onCANopen protocol reliability and configurability are good,it will be thedevelopment direction of battery management system in the future.This article illustrates the research background briefly,in view of the CANbus and its high-level protocol are introduced.Combining with the developmentof battery management system,this paper introduces the bus protocol of this topicselection,CANopen protocol.The battery management system choice chipCY8C3866as main control chip,then it has done the hardware design of thebattery management system,and select LTC6803chips for battery voltageacquisition and monitoring.It has designed and introduced the software of batterymanagement system in detail after hardware design,including the main programdesign and program design.It has designed the CANopen protocol monitoringprogram in the software design specially,it is used to implement to deal withcontent of CANopen protocol.At the same time,this paper has introduced thehardware design the battery information collection module,CAN communicationmodule,and the estimation strategy of the battery charged state in detail.Based onthe design of the hardware platform,it structures the software developmentenvironment,and implements the related experiments of battery managementsystem.Including battery charging and discharging test,current voltagetemperature acquisition experiments,CANopen protocol communications test experiment,battery management system of automatic test system.And it verifiesthe reliability and applicability of CANopen protocol of the Battery ManagementSystem.at the same time,it gives a more reliable and more expandingcommunications in electric vehicle battery management system in the future.
