| The importance of diesel engine running-in process after running-in on bed has been approved owing to vital effect on the safety, reliability and lifetime.During the last twenty years, though a lot of studies were focused on the running-in of diesel engine, the systematic integriy appeared insufficient in both the theory and experiment.In this text, the study was conducted to the diesel engine running-in process of "PUTUODAO" by oil analysis during running-in. Based on the spectrographic analysis, ferrographic analysis, the extraction of lubricant analysis results have been completed by various methods as limits method, tendency chart analysis and wavelet analysis. On the basis of information issued from above analysis, the quality comprehensive assessment model of diesel engine running-in has been established to assess the diesel engine running-in quality.It has-been proved that the running-in quality of main diesel engines are better than that of auxy engine/2, the running-in quality of main engine/s is better than that of main engine/p and auxy engine/2; the test-bed running-in quality of main engines are better than that of auxy engine/2. The wear particle images are decomposed by means of wavelet decomposition. Thus a characterizing parameter can be obtained, to provide a new method of research on diesel engine. Generally, the running-in quality and time of diesel engine are affected by many factors such as assembling quality of machine,the quality of test-bed running, burdening and speed etc. These factors must be matched up each other in order to enhance running-in quality and shorten running-time time.The study on comprehensive assessment of diesel engine running-in quality make us enable to estimate the original state of diesel engine, improve lubricant capacity of wear pairs, increase reliability and lifetime of diesel engine.
