As an important component of the world's merchant fleet, bulk grain carriers is playing the extremely major role in international trade transportation and near ocean, coastal as well as inland waterway transport.In bulk grain shipments, the valley surface is likely to have a migration due to its own characteristic, thus affects the ship's stability and threatens the safety of ships. Therefore, stability research of bulk grain carriers has been a great concern for ship design stuff and the mariners. IMO also formulated the latest bulk grain transport regulations to effectively adjust and control the stability of bulk grain vessels, and thus to safeguard the grain transportation.According to IMO rules and maritime practices and their experience, establishing a algorithm based on the special stability calculation and checking method , meanwhile concerning about exclusive ship stability calculation, and with the introduction of special IMO Ship stability calculation methods and rules, thus has realized complete algorithm of grain rolling moment. In addition, GZ curve processing method is optimized for better accuracy, and Lagrange interpolation, Newton's law numerical analysis method has been applied to the model; Finally, a automatically stability calculation system for bulk carriers is completed through software programming.This system interface is simple and user-friendly; It can calculate bulk grain carriers' stability effectively with high precision results under vary hull parameters. May revise relevant source code according to specific ship needs and integrate with other ship applications for it's quiet extensive.The system has a strong practical value, and could be beneficial to the inspectors and the first officer who is in charge of stability work.
