The impedance analyzer is used in produce, research and development of electronic circuit products, which measures many kinds of parameters of electronic circuit products: impedance, admittance, phase angle, resistance, reactance, conductance, susceptance, capacitance, inductance, quality factor, dissipation factor, etc. It belongs to basic measuring instrument and is comprehensive measuring instrument of the combination of precision LCR measure and frequency response. Nowadays, the frequency of the most domestic impedance analyzers is under the 300KHz. In the world, only several companies'analyzers can achieve 1MHz frequency. Recently, in the domestic correlative industries, the requirements of precision measure and analyse of electronic circuit products in the 1MHz increase steadily. The exiting domestic impedance analyzers cannot satisfy the requirements. The research of new impedance analyzer is based on the requirements of domestic market and has better application foreground. The successful research of the new impedance analyzer not only benefits for the produce of our country's electronic circuit products, but also benefits for the increasing of the products'quality.Design and research of main control board, one part of the new digital impedance analyzer is the assignment of the subject. The main control board mainly achieves some functions as follows: LCD parameters display and set, RS-232C serial communication, serial peripheral interpose communication, etc. It mainly consists of micro-controller, LCD display module, keypad, communication module, and so on. In the design, Atmel Company's AT91RM9200 chip based on ARM9 for system control and communication field is chose as the CPU of main control board. It is the first time using AT91RM9200 for the design and development of products in our department, which accumulates experiences of software and hardware design for future designs using 32-bit micro-controller based on ARM. In the assignment, the software and hardware design of main control board is achieved excellently and friendly man-machine interface is also provided. The new design method of hardware based on"System on Chip"is also used in this subject.
