| The paper constructs a quantitative ecocity-oriented evaluating system of the urban ecosystem to apply it in the case of Shanghai. With the result, the paper compares the situation of urban ecosystem between Shanghai and other domestic and foreign countries, aiming to find the weakness in the urban ecosystem of Shanghai, and then raises the main tasks with policy which would contribute to the aim of achieving ecocity.The paper includes seven chapters. Chapter 1 is the introduction to the background of the study, the purpose and significance of the study under the framework described. Chapter 2 documents the related studies of ecocity and ecosystem. Chapter 3 surveys the basis theory and routine of urban ecosystem evaluation. Chapter 4, the core chapter, is to evaluate the urban ecosystem of Shanghai with the data of 2000-2005, focusing on getting all levels indices for the analysis of the results. Chapter 5 is to find the strength and weakness in the ecosystem of Shanghai by the comparison with other cities. Chapter 6 is to forecast the trend of urban ecosystem of shanghai in 2006-2010 utilizing the Grey Model (1, 1) , and find the trend and negative indices. Chapter 7 raises the main tasks with policy of shanghai for realizing ecocity in the future. Finally, Chapter 8 is the conclusion and some perspectives for the further study. |
