Dynamic consolidation was initiated in Menard Technical Company in French, 1969. Its working principle is to make the heavy hammer fall down to the foundation where the impacts and vibration are formed to make the powerful shock wave, so that it can improve the strength of foundation. This method has the merits of remarkable effect for strengthening, simple equipment for construction, fast construction and less construction cost, etc. so it has been widely used. At the same time, theoretical and experimental researches have been done gradually. Although there are comparatively some researches on it, the technology of dynamic compaction is highly empirical and qualitative because of the complicated parameter of the soil itself. Further researches aimed to the study of the effect of treatment and quality detection are essential desired promote the level of application.Based on the analyzing the method of designing the dynamic compaction in the world and studying the force mechanism of dynamic compaction,this paper has suggested the method of selecting the dynamic compaction parameter and the method which was used in the field has achieved desired effects. It is proposed to apply the fuzzy optimization theory to evaluate and choose the plans of soil treatment. The predominance dynamic consolidation relative to other plans of soil treatment is illustrated by applying this optimization theory. At last, It is analyzed the connection between pressure of hammer and the bearing capacity for silt soil. The relationship between the bearing capacity and energy of dynamic compaction is concluded.
