In recent years, the steel structural building widely applied in our country, because of its high intensity, light self-weight, big use-space, good flexibility, quickly construction progress and other advantages. However, steel is not fireproof. When the temperature is 400 ℃, the steel yield strength will fall to the half of the intensity under the room temperature. When the temperature achieved 600 ℃, the steel basically will nearly lose the complete intensity and the rigidity. Therefore, when fire protection measures of the steel structure are unavailable, once the fire happens, its bearing capacity will drop, and the distortion will rapidly increase. It will possibly be able to achieve the limiting condition and turn to destruction in a short time.At present, the code of design on building fire protection and prevention is based on the experiment in our country. It has the multitudinous shortcomings. To the problem existed, a fire-resistance design method based on computation was presented in this paper, which effectively saluted the insufficiency of other experimental methods and applied to project example research. The process and main contents in this paper are as follows. First, the steel structural building commonly used frame structure was taken as a model was carried on the three dimensional overall structure analysis for the steel structural building, to ascertain the most importment component of steel structural building. Then, the calefactive curve was taken as fire model referred to ISO834, the nonlinear simulation using software ANSYS10.0 for steel structural building under the fire, and the whole structure response was analyzed. Finally, the existed fire protection methods were compared in this research based on the system thought. In conclusion, the example research showed, considered active measurement and passive measurement in system and comprehensive, we can make the fire-resistant design more reasonable.
