This text first summarized the steam trap and shape memory alloy(SMA), and then introduced how to use the shape memory effect(SME) and the pseudo-phase change characteristics of flexibility of the SMA to develop a new kind of heat-static SMA steam trap, deep analysis of the purpose, meaning and feasibility were studied in this subject.With the constitutive and mechanical relations of shape memory alloy springs as the basis , two mathematical models of spring design are established. By comparison, we find a model suitable for the engineering design. This mathematical model solution and design methods of the movement elements (SMA spring and the ordinary spring matched with SMA spring) are explained in detail. From the spring performance and economic, we optimize the design of memory alloy springs for multi-objective, so that the spring after optimization has the advantages of smaller quality and higher stiffness. While improving the use performance of the SMA spring, we low down Spring cost, especially getting more economic benefits from mass production. This paper has great value and significance in industrial production and resource conservation.The SMA steam trap was designed and calculated, confirmed the material, structure pattern, size of its spare part, According to the calculate of each component, the part pictures and installation diagrams of the SMA steam trap were finished finally.Compared with the traditional heat-static-double metal dredges SMA steam trap, the new kind of SMA steam trap had the advantage on reliable, rapidly movement, good performance, deformation amount and restoring force heavy, low cost, serviceability is superior to the heat-static-double metal dredges SMA steam trap, had good view in the future.Finally, the temperature lagging behind dredging water valve to SMA steam carried on deep research, put forward the feasible method that temperature lags behind of reducing, propose in order to improve the serviceability that SMA steam trap supported the important theoretical foundation.
