As the traditional single mode of AGC control strategy is incompetent to meet the requirements of its increasingly large scale,the Inner Mongolia electric power grid aims to improve its generator sets with AGC in the fields of area control and optimal control. According to the characteristics of the existing power grid configuration and generator sets condition,this project develops an AGC optimal control system suitable for the present dispatch regulation. It can conduct the tasks of analyzing the electric network based on EMS-collected data,automatically regulating the generator output in the utility in accord with the above calculation outcomes,and thus ensuring the power transfer within a secure boundary. The ACE for the power flow sent to the east is within an acceptable range too. On meeting the prerequisites of guaranteeing maximum cross-section power transfer and qualified ACE value,there are other functions such as lowering the energy consume complying with the national policy,aiding economical dispatch,providing auxiliary services etc. All work is done by the AGC generators of all generation enterprises spontaneously following the instructions from the control center. This power system is operating is a more secure,stable and economical environment.
