With the development of technology, it's a contradiction to use various types of loads which influence the power quantity but demand more for power quantity. Unbalanced load may impact the power quantity seriously. So this paper invites a new compensator for balancing towards unbalanced load, also capability for harmonic elimination and reactive power compensation. In this paper, the proposed topology of the compensator for balancing is a current-controlled voltage source inverter. On the basis of analyzing the existing control principles, the compensator system is designed to employ power balance theory. This algorithm has been found to be effective for load balancing. In other words, for the supply system, the compensator system and load combined together behave as a balanced three-phase resistive load. The design of the proposed compensator system has been described in detail including mathematical model and equations of the control system. The dual loop control method in rotating coordinates can convert the sinusoidal quantities to constant quantities. This makes the supply currents follow the reference without static error and with better steady-state behavior.SVPWM (Space Vector PWM) is regarded as switch control strategy, which advances the utilization ratio of the DC source voltage. The compensator system has been found to be effective no matter the type of the load. This paper designs a prototype model of compensator system based on DSP (Digital Signal Processor) using TMS320LF2407, also compiles and debugs the control programme. The prototype model is tested in low voltage.
