This text makes the simple introduction to the method of calculating the roadbed subsidence at present and the research present situation of cut-to-fill sections differential settlement, expatiating the research purpose and significance. Then aims at the settlement of high fills in the roadbed after completion of the highway, contrasts with the traditional method of computation subsidence — layerwise summation method, applies MIDAS/Civil to simulate the roadbed forms and the displacement models. Through the finite element analysis we obtains the roadbed settlement ,and in comparison with the computed result based on the traditional method and present the superiority of use MIDAS/Civil in calculating the roadbed settlement. Through change model parameter: road and ground snapping back module, roadbed depth of fill, slope of roadbed and so on, analysis subsidence change rule. After, based on the model of settlement calculation, improves model and makes it unit division optimize, calculation the differential settlement. Through change model parameter: roadbed depth of fill, width of now roadbed, slope of roadbed and so on, analysis differential settlement change rule, find the effective action reduce it. But at present utilizes MIDAS/Civil calculates the roadbed subsidence obtain the initial utilization in the actual project, but also waits for the measured data and the actual material carries on a more accurate examination to it.Finally we take the computed result as the basis, supply some reference conclusion for the project practice and put forward the proposal to the further research.
