With the quick development of highway construction in China, it shifts gradually from eastern area to mid-west area. Our country is a mountainous nation; it is inevitable to meet cut-fill subgrade when we construct highway in mountainous area. If take inappropriate measures, it would result in premature failure and excessive distress of pavements. At the present, because the design standard and theoretical research on cut-fill section is not enough, it restricts the construction quality and long-term serviceability seriously.Basing on extensive survey and collection of other highway in China and abroad, according to the construction example of Wan Ping highway, HeNa province, depending on experiments indoors and out doors, this thesis put forward the design viewpoint and construction methods of cut-fill subgrade, which mainly contain four parts as follows:1) Researching the feature of cut-fill subgrade, summing up its manifestation of differential settlement, analyzing the causes of differential settlement, and giving the method of settlement calculation;2) Analyzing the working principle of impact roller, studying the effect of different rolling frequency to sedimentation, compactness and rebound defection through experiment at the spot and indicating that the additional impact compaction can enhance the strength of highway subgrade under the rational rolling frequency;3) adopting to geogrid as the treatment of cut-fill subgrade, analyzing the treatment mechanism and proper layout of geogrid, studying the influence of different quantity geogrid on differertial settlement of cut to fill subgrade thorough different plan and settlement observation, and studying the construction technique and standards of cut to fill section;4) Comparing the effect of reduce the diffenertial settlement on cut to fill section by laying geogrid through centrifugal model test, verifying the accuracy of 3) from another aspect.
