These days, the vehicle automatic operations have become the trend of automobiles development. Especially the automatic transmission is demanded stronger and stronger with our income increasing and work rhythm being rapid. The automotive automatic transmissions fall into such four categories as AT(Automatic Transmissions), CVT(Continue Variable Transmissions), AMT(Automated Manual Transmissions) and EVT(Electric Variable Transmission). AT is a ripeness product in Europe and America automotive developed country. However, for it's low efficiency and imparticipable with the conventional mechanical gearboxes, the development of AT is restricted in China in these looking for fuel efficiency days. CVT is able to vary the ratios continuously just in theory. But it can't work under a large torque more than 300Nm because of the material of its belt. Also the vehicle launch control of CVT is a difficulty. CVT now only can be seen on the luxury car under the engine size 3.0L. AMT is composed of Actuator and Control unit adding on the conventional gearbox. So that AMT has the advantages of the design and production sharing with the abundant resource of mechanical gearbox and high fuel efficiency almost equal to the Mechanical gearbox. DCT, The new generation of AMT has resolved the power interrupt during shift process, which worries the ordinary AMT all the time. EVT comes from HEV with the cleanness, economization and assistant power, which lead the direction of the automotive automatic transmission development. In conclusion, this thesis conceives that Chinese automatic transmission should start from AMT, and step to DCT, EVT.The clutch engaging control during vehicle launch time is a difficulty of AMT technology, because the start-engaging point and the engaging speed isn't a fixed figure. In the second chapter of this thesis, the characters of disk-spring pressed and dry clutch is detailed. The torque of clutch is in direct proportion to the pressed force, and which is in inverse proportion to the displacement of bearing in the flexibility section of the clutch finger.
