Design And Application Of Shleld Method In Subway Construction

With the rapid development of civil engineering technology, electromechanical integration technology, computer technology, automation technology, electronic technology, material technology, the machine's design, manufacture, operation & control technology, and construction equipments and construction management improved accordingly. The Shield Method has advantages of higher mechanization, simple construction organization, and easy management, safe & fast construction, and fine quality, small settlement occurred during construction, easy-controlled construction procedure, no dewatering during construction, etc.The author puts forward the main standards for metro construction through several subway running tunneling studies in this thesis. And the type of shield machine, which is suitable for construction conditions, is also determined by the way of technological and economic alteration after comprehensive comparison between different construction parameters under geological condition in Beijing.The way of thinking for design and design method for shield tunneling are suggested in this thesis, which concludes that shield tunneling design must consider following factors, such as: track constituents, safety and feasibility of structure, control of structural loads and deformation, and allowable stratum settlement value.The author analyzes every construction procedure by field-testing and data analysis, as a result, the procedures of cutting, earth discharge, driving, earth hauling, and segment erection are all be arranged one by one in an optimum way. In addition, the author develops a slurry-entrained and foam-entrained construction methods, which produce a flow chart for rapid shield tunneling under geological conditions of sand gravel strata without groundwater.
