With the development of bridge construction, different kinds of complex bridge types are emerging, however, since most bridge structure analysis softwares are based on beam-element analysis system, thus the load effect of structure's details can't be obtained. Even though a detail analysis of structure can be achieved with finite-element program, but there are lots of inconveniences by this method. The author thinks that in actual design, sometimes it is necessary to use plate-shell element directly for modelling analysis, such as slant bridge, curved bridge, flat-box girder bridge, curved-bottom box girder bridge, etc; thus, the author designs a special bridge structure analysis program BASS, which adopts plate-shell element; for economizing computer memory, a super element mechanism is also introduced in the program.First, this paper introduces the finite-element method used for 6 normal elements in this program, and thoroughly discusses the actual computation method of super element. Then, this paper briefly introduces the realization method of BASS in Chapter 3. Finally, this paper gives several computaion examples by using this program in Chapter 4, and a comparison is carried out with the commercial software ANSYS, the results indicates that computational results of this program is relatively accurate.This program provides the modelling method based on section, and it is more accorded with actual bridge structure, at the same time, it also provides the convenience for the development of post-processing.
