Pilot Study Of Rdzaong Mountain In Tibet

Tibet is a province with many cultural relic in China. Because of the special geographic position and short of professional, a lot of architectural heritages did not get enough protection and research. With the development of economy and technology, Chinese government attaches importance to architectural heritage, and many heritages in Tibet get more and more attention and protection. However, there are still many historic architectures desiderate to be study, such as"Rdzaong Mountain".The county organization of old Tibetan government is called"Rdzaong". The prefectural offices were built on the top of hill, and then we call them as"Rdzaong Mountain". As a government office that time,"Rdzaong Mountain"influenced the city design, local architectural style and so on. In this thesis, the first chapter depicts the source and the meaning of this thesis, and the next two chapters introduce the natural and historic background of"Rdzaong Mountain", and recite the beginning, the development and the wane of"Rdzaong Mountain". The forth chapter analyses the relationship between"Rdzaong Mountain"and the local city, the religion and the palace. The fifth chapter takes"Gyantse Rdzaong"as an example to analyze the function, the structure and the construct of"Rdzaong Mountain". The sixth chapter lists the information we collected and tries to show a whole scene of"Rdzaong Mountain"in front of you.
