With the constant development of our economy, vehicles as a modern transportation tool are becoming more and more popular. The sharp increase of vehicle quantity brings great convenience to people's life and production, but at the same time, the casualty rates from traffic accident continue to ascend. So the vehicle's crashworthiness must be researched at the development stage to improve the performance of vehicle's passive safety and decrease the casualty. The design idea and method for improving vehicle front impact safety are offered assembly and roundly.On the base of simulating analysis of front impact between car and rigid wall, the researching contents included model simplified reasonably and discrete model, choosing cell types of every part, contacting types and welding types, simulating rigid wall, setting attribute parameter of nonlinear material and so on. Such researches, which are the basis of setting up finite element analysis model in the computer simulating analysis of cars, help to build model of finite element analysis effectively and exactly, and to improve precision of simulating analysis.The process of establishing and evaluating equation of motion for vehicle impact system were analyzed, as well as measuring methods of stress and strain for large deformation in contact impact .The front impact between the car and rigid wall was simulated according to our national central collision approach- CMVDR 294. According to the result of simulation, the crashworthiness for front impact was appraised, which can help to improve the crashworthiness.On the assembly simulation plane, the improving design of absorbing energy structure was provided which can improve the structure crashworthiness for front impact. And it was simulated with the computer. By contrast to the former simulation result and the result of impacting test for real car, the effectiveness of improving the structure crashworthiness by structure improvement for the front impact was validated. At last, the feasible way by which can improve the crashworthiness of vehicle structure was given.
