Rock socketed pile is a familiar type in pile foundation engineering practice. Because of the following advantages, such as high bearing capacity, small setlement, good convergence and earthquake-resistance, it has been widely applied in geotechnical engineering during the recent years. It has the above advantages, though design theory of rock-socketed pile still needs to be further researched. So the study on the bearing capacity of rock socketed pile is of great significance in theory and practice.Firstly, basis on a mass of investigate and pile testing datum, the author studied the character and destroy pattern of rock socketed pile. The results of the research on bearing capacity indicate that load transfer and failure mechanism is mainly associated with the slenderness ratio of pile, the properties of covering soil, the character of socketed rock and construction method. With the depth of rock socketed increasing, load proportion of pile tip can decrease gradually. In addition, the thesis has studied how the bearing capacity of rock socketed pile is affected by various bedrock strength and sediment thicknessSecondly, in this thesis, the calculation method of bearing capacity of rock socketed pile has been analyzed. Especially get that there exsits some windage according to the rock intensity of pressure.Finnaly, the project of Nanping Century Town in Fujian Province are taken as an example to illustrate the analyses. Engineering practice indicates that the above research findings are in accordance with practical results.The study of this thesis is well on the define method of bearing capacity of rock socketed pile. As a result, it is of great significance in theory and practice. The conclusions of the study can be referred for the design of rock socketed pile in the future.
