Disk permanent magnet synchronous motor has the features of low mass, little volume, compact structure, non-lost in rotor, low moment of inertia, electromechanical time constant, high proportion of torque and mass, steady running status in low speed. It can be designed to more modules easily. Being a perfect drive device, it could be used in many fields such as CNC, robot, electric vehicle, elevator, home appliance and so on.Based on the disk PM synchronous motor, coreless structure and Halbach array are used in the coreless disk PM synchronous motor which results in little mass, high power density, little shake noise and high efficiency.The control of the coreless disk PM synchronous motor should be based on its characteristics, using the method of PM synchronous motor, and have the aim of satisfying the need of production and life. In this paper, the research concentrates on three contents:1. After the structure of the coreless disk PM synchronous motor is analyzed the running characteristics and control differences would be summed up.2. With the control method of PM synchronous motor, the model of the coreless disk PM synchronous motor would be designed in use of MATLAB and the differences in control would be analyzed between the coreless disk PM synchronous motor and the old one.3. The hardware and software of DSP control system would be set up and used to experiment on coreless disk PM synchronous motorAs a new type motor, the study of the coreless disk PM synchronous motor is less and its control has not been studied. In this paper the deference in control of coreless disk PM synchronous motor is studied with analyzing its structures and setting up control system. There are particular explanations in performances, starting and control of the coreless disk PM synchronous motor in this paper, establishing the foundation for the control the motor.
