Urinary Incontinence is a common disease in middle aged and elderly woman. The method of biofeedback applying to treat female UI is becoming one of the hot subjects in native and abroad gradually. In this paper, pelvic muscle exercises and electrical stimulation based on biofeedback are studied. After understanding their therapeutical mechanism in detail, a medical electrical instrument of treating UI is designed. The main work having been done is shown as follows:The instrument is designed and implemented. It consists of two parts: slave-computer and super-computer. Super-computer adopts PC. Slave-computer is composed of hardware circuit and firmware program, and hardware circuit includes EMG amplifier, A/D and D/A converted circuit, electrical stimulation amplifier, USB interface etc.EMG amplifier must have high gain, high input impedance, high CMRR and low noise because EMG signal itself is weak and interfered easily. In order to get this aim, common-mode driven shielding layer of cable and floating reference ground are adopted in circuit designed besides high performance and high precision electronic component.Medical electronic instrument relates to life and safety of patient. The instrument takes measure as DOto-DC isolated converter providing power for EMG amplifier and electrical stimulation circuit which touch body of patient directly, in order to comply with safety standard of medical electrical industry.In this paper, adaptive filter is presented to remove 50Hz power-line interference because it can change the properties of FIR filters at any moment in terms of drift of interfering frequency. The effect of filtering is proved satisfied by computer emulator.The sampled signal of EMG is transmitted to computer through USB interface and processed. The therapeutic method includes biofeedback and electrical stimulation based on biofeedback. The biofeedback therapy is to feedbacks to patient with form of graph and voice. Patient can track these changes through graph when they contract pelvic floor muscle, and then retrain function of pelvic floor muscle under the voice instruction. In the electrical stimulation therapy, the parameters of electric stimulator are selected and controlled on basis of analyzing and processing EMG signal. So it can get the best treatment effects.A system design of the biofeedback therapeutic equipment of UI is presented in this paper. Researching result provides valuable reference to the same kind of researching subject.
