Double-stack container trains are the new railway products which can increase transport capacity with higher speed and lower unit operating cost. Many countries with large clearance, like USA, Canada and Australia, have run the double-stack container trains. Because of the shortage of transport capacity, Chinese railway has actively involved in the test operation of double-stack containers under the temporary plan, which can become a new economic growth point of railway and will make a good foundation of railway fast freight system. Double-stack container cars have larger load, higher combined center of gravity of load and cars, and higher speed than common freight cars, so their technical conditions and methods about loading and securing need to be determined through theoretical and experimental studies.This dissertation summarizes the development of domestic and foreign railway double-stack container transportation. Through analyzing the double-stack container running experiment results in Beijing-Shanghai Line and Suining-Chongqing Line, this dissertation proposes the deviation limit of gravity center of double-stack containers and goods that are loaded in a car from the car center and the height limitation of loaded double-stack container cars'gravity center in china, which are the technical conditions of loading and securing double-stack containers. According to this, this dissertation studies loading and securing method of goods inside containers, especially typical cargos, establishes the model and applied table of loading containers on cars, analyzes the strength of locks connecting containers on the top and bottom and proposes the management of locks.The dissertation utilizes theories of railway freight transport technology, vehicles engineering, vehicles dynamics, mechanics and so on, integrates the investigation and study practice, draws a practical and feasible research conclusion, which will have realistic significance to supervise practical operation, to guarantee security of double-stack container transportation, to optimize the organization of double-stack container transportation, and will provide a scientific basis for perfecting the railway double- stack container transportation rules and regulations.
