Double-stack container trains are the new railway products which can increase transport capacity with higher speed and lower unit operating cost. Many countries with large clearance, like USA, Canada and Australia, have run the double-stack container trains. Because of the shortage of transport capacity, Chinese railway has actively involved in the test operation of double-stack containers under the temporary plan, which can become a new economic growth point of railway and will make a good foundation of railway fast freight system. Double-stack container cars have larger load, higher combined center of gravity of load and cars, and higher speed than common freight cars, and the deviation of cargo gravity center often occurs in practical operation, so the study on the security of double-stack container car has become the most important problem to solve for double stack container transportation security.This dissertation summarizes the development of domestic and foreign railway double-stack container transportation and analyzing security factors and standards of double-stack container car. It analyzes the operating conditions of double-stack container running experiment and uses mathematic model which associate security factors of double-stack container car to discuss the influence of speed and the height of car gravity center and other factors to the safety of double-stack car. Then it uses the results of double-stack container running experiment to validate the security and gain the conclusions of this paper.
