With the gradual depletion of oil and gas resources onshore and offshore, the deep-sea oil and gas development has become an inevitable trend to meet the growing demand for energy. Learning the advanced experience and technology from others, we are investigating the dynamic characteristics about deep-sea platforms, to provide some theoretical support for our country's deep-water development as to South China Sea in future.Based on the three-dimensional potential theory, the dynamic characteristics of three different types of deep-sea floating structures, which are Floating Production, Drilling, Storage and Offloading (FPDSO),Geometric Spar(G-Spar) and"Tiao Zhan Hao"Semi-submersible platform, are investigated by a combination method of theoretical analysis, numerical calculation and model test. The numerical results of the first-order motion response functions (RAO), motion spectrum and statistical values in their special ocean environment are compared with the corresponding ones in model tests. The numerical results are calculated by the improved procedures"Motions and loads...
