| Crankshaft is one of the most important and expensive parts in engine, its size has an obvious influence on size and weight, and to a great extend, on the reliability of engine. With the development of power density and intensification of engine, the working condition of crankshaft will become more and more harsh. So it has an extreme important position in the progress of engine design and improvement, to analyze the strength of crankshaft structure.In the recent 20 years, study of engine crankshaft strength has been getting great progress with the improvement of computing technology and persisting effort of many researchers, especially in the aspect of calculation of crankshaft stress. The paper will study and analyze the stress and strength of crankshaft of 479QY gasoline engine,and its content is as follow:1) On the basis of a large number of documents, the arthor knew the study about crankshaft in foreign and our country, and decided the contents and goals in this paper;2) crankshaft calculation with the method of continuous beam, get the results of moments and reactions on each bearing, which will be used as boundary condtions in 3-D FEA analysis. The position of the most dangerous crank was given, and the nominal stress was also calculated.3) 3-D solid model of crankshaft was developed by UG software, and guided into Ansys software.
