The environment pollution and energy crisis have been drawn more and more attentions. Many companies have developed low emission vehicles. Fuel cell vehicles have become focus because they have advantages of zero or nearly zero emission, high efficiency and low noise level.A fuel cell hybrid consisting of a fuel cell and a pack of batteries is studied in this thesis. Type and operating condition of different drive train are analyzed on the basis of introducing the structure of the fuel cell vehicle. After comparison of different types of main parts in the fuel cell vehicle, the types of the fuel cell, the battery and the motor are determined, respectively.Comparing different control strategies in order to decrease of fuel consumption, fuzzy control strategy is used in the fuel cell vehicle, whose input parameters are the required power of the vehicle and SOC (State of Charge) of the battery.A simulation model for Fuel cell hybrid vehicle is established with Matlab/Simulink. With the help of the developed model the On/Off control strategy and the fuzzy control strategy are simulated in specific operating conditions. The simulation results show that fuel consumption with the fuzzy control strategy is nearly the same that with On/Off control strategy, However, the fuzzy control strategy has obvious advantage over On/Off control strategy, when SOC is high.
