In this thesis, a series of important problems such as structure and kinematics, statics and efficiency, influence of the parts'dimensional errors and Kineto-Elastodynamics of Schmidt Offset Coupling, which is a new type coupling with typical structure and high transmission performance, were analyzed systematically, and finally the theoretical foundation for the design and selection of this mechanism was provided.Firstly, based on structure and kinematics analysis, mechanism problems such as the amount and the source of the redundant constraints and the class level of the mechanism were solved, while the kinematics analysis provided the basis for further dynamic analysis.Secondly, based on the reasonable simplification of the mechanism, the deformation coor-dinate condition for this over-constrained mechanism was seek and founded, and then elastic statics and efficiency analysis were performed. The force condition and theoretical efficiency of the mechanism were obtained and the influence of main design parameters on the efficiency was analyzed, based on which some design principles were proposed. Further more, the deformation coordinate condition with some manufacture errors considered was established. Then the influ-ence of the different error on the organization stress and the efficiency of the mechanism was analyzed, from which some selective rules of the manufacture precision were proposed. In this thesis the Kineto-Elastodynamics model of this mechanism was established with the Kineto-Elastodynamics theory of the flexible linkage mechanism. Its numerical solution was presented to find its natural frequencies, and its dynamic characteristics were analyzed. And the analysis validated the correctness of the elastic statics analysis, showed that this mechanism has excellent transmission precision and also based on it some design principles were presented.Eventually, based on all the work above, the calculate method of the mechanism equivalent moment of inertia and the design and check methods of the main parts were analyzed and given out when self-design needed. Also the calculate method of the allowable torque and the per-formance factor and the life-speed factor in the selective principles of the coupling when the rolling bearing was used were analyzed and presented. Moreover, the offset range of the parallel shafts was preliminary discussed. All of the work above provided valuable theoretical foundationfor engineering application, which can be a reference in the design and application work of the coupling.
