The flood resulting from a dam breaking propagates quickly and often causes a calamity. During last half century, failures of dams occasional occurred; these accidents resulted in huge loss of property and life. The safety of dams is focused by many people. The correlative research is also more active.The dam-break phenomenon is extremely complex; it lies on many different Factors. In earlier period, it is researched usually by experiments. With the development of the calculation technique and numerical methods, and also with the advancement of the computer, more and more numerical models are used to simulate the flood flow caused by dam-break.Based on the former research results, a numerical model is developed to analyze dam-break accident. It is applied to predicting the result of dam-break flood flow and researching the methods to reduce risk of the flood.The main research content and conclusions:1.Adopting a dam-breach develop mode, a numerical model is developed to analyze dam-break accident. In this model, calculation of flood flow propagation integrates with regulation of reservoir volume and simulation of process of dam-break.2.Relating to Jin Pen reservoir project, this paper is of applying MapInfo soft and two-dimensional unsteady flow Theoretical to discuss the disciplinarian of flood in flood basin. The paper gives out directly DEM map of Heihe and administration planning map; the flood inundation map in diffeence time; the flood depth distribution map. According to two-dimensional flood routing imitation results, on the basis of GIS technology, this paper gives the condition of flood towns,water quantity of flood basins and gives out inundation area-time diagram of Curves.3.According to synthetical analying results, flood risk draft is to be drawn in the Heihe area. To sum up, the leaders plannings and residents who manage or live in this area have acknowledgefor flood damage and have enough time to take refuge. Utilized the flood risk draft in the diversion area is able to be controlled properly. To make the resistant lands and factory lands are to be build in the little flood risk region. Once diversing, to make flood damage decreases to the least.In a word,it affords forceful foundation for flood basin.
