At present, the research on the role of cylindrical rigidity in the ice-induced vibration and the model test of ice-induced Vibration has not been carried out sufficiently. In order to control the ice-induced vibration, improve the safety factor of platforms, utilizing the precious experiment data of project, from the experimental perspective, some aspects of research about it as following have been undertaken. For the purpose of this paper, a series of experiments were designed and executed, which provided enough data. With analyzing the phenomena and data of these experiments, a mechanics entitled the interaction was proved in the ice-induced vibration.Depending on the relationship between the cylindrical rigidity and the velocity range of the ice-induced steady vibration, the fact that the velocity range will decrease according with the increase of the cylindrical rigidity is improved; the author presented a point of view about the elastic control, by the elastic response of structures and ice plates, a series of assumptions on the effect between the cylindrical rigidity and the velocity range of the ice-induced steady vibration were presented.Through the influence which the elastic control coefficient imposed on the dynamic amplification, the fact that the cylindrical rigidity controls the ice-induced vibration efficiently by intervening the failure modes and energy distribution was demonstrated.Because the purpose of this paper is to study the effect of the cylindrical rigidity with the ice-induced vibration and the study method is the experiment, so the conclusions are primarily limited in these areas of such experiments, at the same time, as the macroscopical perspective was adopted such as the elastic control coefficient, all the conclusions offered by this paper will be improved and enriched following the development of this experiment.
