Container yard is an important link in the process of container transportation. As the rapid increasing throughput of port container, management and construction for backup yard has been taken more and more attention by human because of the stack limitation of marshalling yard. The utilization of yard could be improved only by taking scientific management, then the cost could be degraded and managers could gain more benefit.The paper based on management of backup yard container researches the theory and method of intelligence simulation, through analyzing the research status of container yard, finds out some existed problems. In the process of modeling, the paper takes emphasis on the following two aspects: Algorithm design of allocating location automatically for input containers, and supply optimized strategy design for output containers. The former abstracts knowledge base of stack location by analyzing operation model of input container and adopts theory of pattern recognition to identify the current store model of area and bay in order to make sure different stack location strategy for input container. The later strictly follows by the features of backup yard, takes fully consideration about arriving time factor which affects rate, adopts vague time strategy as the choice basis for output container.The intelligent simulation archetypal system is constructed based on two aspects' academic research hereinbefore. The system does experiment time after time aimed at input and output containers based on simulation strategy of active scan, uses inverse rate as the standard of evaluation and then make sure the best stack location strategy for input container and the best vague time segment for choosing output container by comparing the result of experiments. The algorithm of allocating location automatically for input containers which based on pattern recognition and the optimized strategy for output containers which have self adaptability indicate the intelligence ability of the archetypal system. The realization of the archetypal simulation system which has intelligence ability could supply help when the managers do decision-making and alsocould supply valuable reference when developing management information system for backup yard.
