Along with developing of hardware and supported sofeware,today we have abilities to take route design in road virtual 3D environment in real time. It is a good experience to express traditional route with NURBS,which is the most popular in modern surface modeling.This dissertation studies on the key theories and major technologies involved in the highway 3d modeling, and presents a series of methods in modeling and algorithms. The chief research contents and achievements can be summarized as follows:1.On the bisis of current methods of route design,the paper presents a new idea of 3d design which based on mid-alignment of highway.2. From analysis of the theory and some crucial technologies of NURBS,this paper ,utilizes the NURBS curve to describe the traditional route.And it is proved correctly.3. For traditional design ,the paper present a method to build mid-alignment which is a section of horizontal surface and vertical surface.Also,to create it with interpolating a set of given point in 3d circumstances.4.Introduce computer graphics into three-dimention surface modeling of highway and a new method is put forward to model road surface in skinning suface.5.Take advantage of OpenGL rendering context ,road surface is attained.A new theory and methods are put forward for route design and 3d modeling,which lays down the foundation of real time spatial interaction.
