The fasten-style tubular steel scaffolding and falsework system is widely used in building construction in China because they are convenient/versatile/high carrying capacity/good overall stiffness and relatively inexpensive. It's said that they composite 70 percent of overall scaffold used in China. However, there are many reports about accidents caused by collapse of the fasten-style tubular steel scaffolding and falsework system, which results in substantial economic loss and casualties. According to the statistics data, accidents caused by scaffold account for 25 percent the whole accidents happened in the construction sites. Hence, the study on the fasten-style tubular steel scaffolding and falsework system has important theoretic and practice meanings.Firstly, the dissertation reviewed the development process and the trend of scaffold in our country. In particularly, introduced the structure of the fasten-style tubular steel scaffolding. Then, enumerated the safety accidents of scaffolds in recent years and analyzed the reasons which cause these accidents, concluded the means to avoid the happening of these accidents. The dissertation also concluded the study fruit of scaffold and falsework both at home and aboard, which is very useful for the following study.There are mainly there different calculating methods about scaffold and falsework: hinged/rigid/semi-rigid system according to the different views about the fastener. The dissertation introduced the features of fastener of fasten-style tubular steel falsework and different M-θ models of semi-rigid connections.The dissertation established the element stiffness matrixes about the main spars of the fasten-style tubular steel falsework: erected/longitudinal/lateral spars. And, use the finite element analysis software ANSYS to model the falsework and do the mechanical analysis to get the maximum horizontal offset of the system and the maximum moments and shear forces of the fastener. From these analysis results, the author drew conclusions which are very useful to understand the mechanical capacity of the falsework system and guide the engineering practice.
