Traffic flow theory is an edge science to describe the traffic flow characteristic using mathematical and physical knowledge. It elaborates the transportation phenomenon and its mechanism with the analytical method, to make people have a better knowledge of transportation phenomenon and its essence, and maximize the effect of the programming, design, operate and management of urban road. Microscopic traffic simulation is based on single vehicle behavior, which not only carry on to statistic analysis to the operational function of the transportation system from the macroscopic level, but also analyze the transportation system and optimize its performance in details from all aspects such as drivers' behavior, collocation of the lanes and settings of traffic establishment, and is thus a valid tool to study traffic flow.The dissertation focuses on the study of mixed traffic simulation and the relation between traffic flow characteristics and the individual behavior, gives a feasible calibration method of micro-simulation system. The main work and corresponding results achieved in this dissertation can be summarized as follows:a) Some researches are done on microscopic models of mixed traffic. Based on corresponding researches on car following model and vector field model, drivers' behavior and motivation are observed, and car model and vector field model are improved in this dissertation.b) By researching on different intersections and the structure of road network, conflict model to describe the disturbance and conflicts is given. Then conflict model and microscopic model are combined and microscopic simulation is implemented based on object oriented design.c) The calibration of microscopic traffic simulation is studied. Definition of veracity of simulation system is given based on study of real traffic, and calibration of SASUMT is carried out accordingly.d) As a chief member, I design and develop the Traffic Intersection Simulation System (TiSS), which can simulate any traffic signal methods, any intersections, regular or non-regular. This dissertation describes the system structure design of TiSS and the implementation of major models.
