As an unpolluted common traffic vehicle, today trolley attracts more attention than before on the background of the development trend about the green traffic. the power supply system of the trolley is the low voltage direct current transmit electricity, its power supply cable belongs to the low voltage cables. Now the research emphases of the cable fault inspection and the distance measure nearly are about the high voltage cables on inboard and onboard. Today in our country, there are no special online inspection and location instruments which aim at the low voltage cable fault inspection. In the face of the favorable development of the trolley and the low-level automatization of the trolley power supply line fault inspection status, to develop a professional trolley cable fault online inspection and the fault location equipment has very important practical meaning and enormous economic benefit.To aim at the trolley power supply cable, the article describes how to design a trolley power supply cable fault distance measure set. The set use the singlechip as the microprocessor, it can be functionally separated into voltage data collection module, data storage module, default alert module, keyboard control module and LCD module and other modules. The article also describes the process of the hardware designation, the software programming and the system debug. It also has detail introduction about the clip selection process, circuit designation process and the coding process of each modules, and also includes the discussion about how to apply the electrical bridge theory to the accurately failure location. The system has proved to be feasible in practice.
