Digital photofmishing system based on LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) is a new technology which the LCOS micro-display works as digital negative in the digital photofmishing system and the digital processing and controlling function of PC is utilized to realize non-film and total digitalized color pictures. The design had great application in the digital photo finishing. This paper mainly introduces the fundamental of digital photofmishing system based on LCOS, the framework, the solutions to realize the design and so on. Eventually the rationality of the method is demonstrated with the results and waveforms of the experiments. This paper basically has the four different parts. In the first part, the fundamentals of the system are introduced, and this paper points the differences between digital photofmishing system based on LCOS and traditional projection technology. Besides, the paper presents the mainly frames of digital photofmishing system based on LCOS. Secondly, we focus on the key element of the whole system, designs for LCOS driven circuit and describe the process in more detail. As the response curves are interconnected with voltages of circuit parameters, the system changes the voltage to adjust the response curves in single channel, instead of rewriting GAMMA, which decreases the number of read/writ form EEPROM and promotes the stability of the system. The third part of this paper explains how to design the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and make signal integrity analysis. The last part discusses the software design and provides the results of experiments; we summarized the whole project and proposed the prospect.
