Stochastic Resonance (SR) is a nonlinear phenomenon highly attentioned in recent years. It makes use of the positive effect of noise, and is the cooperation of the input signal, noise and the nonlinear system. Using SR for signal detection is a new method.This paper studied the threshold system which is easy for analyzing, on the base of the concept, the basic theory, the model and the measuring technique of SR, analyzed the influence of the signal parameters, noise intensity and system parameters, especially the duty cycle of the signal. The regulation of the duty cycle, signal amplitude and the threshold by simulation was obtained.The threshold system was extended to multi-threshold system, and the characteristic was given. Bi-threshold system as an example of multi-threshold was studied in depth, and it was defined as absolute subthreshold system, hybrid system and absolute superthreshold system. The mathematical model of bi-threshold system was established, the signal gain, noise gain and SNR gain were studied and simulated.The influence of the system parameter, the signal parameter and the noise intensity to the bi-threshold system was mastered.From the perspective of the power spectral density, which of the output in the single threshold system was studied theorically, the energy changment from noise to signal for quantitative analysis when stochastic resonance happened using Sptool was discussed of.The related power for the aperiodic certain signals and the channel capacity for random signal were used for measuring the aperiodic SR,and they weresimulated.On the base of the previous research in the theory of stochastic resonancein the threshold system, this paper made the theory research and simulation analyze in some problems of the single threshold system and the multi-threshold system. It enriched the theory of the threshold system, and it was conducive to the applications of stochastic resonance.
