Faced to the problem of the energy sources shortness and environment pollution, hybrid electric vehicle, an intergraded-vehicle between custom engine vehicle and electric vehicle, has become hot point of the global automobile industries research and development because of its theoretic feasible and unique technical advantages. However, evaluating and improving REV performances, especially dynamic and economical performance, not only needs theoretic simulation but also needs vast test datum analyzing. And vehicle battery, as one of the two REV energy sources, is always the feeble section of the REV, because performance difference of the each battery module in series directly afects the whole performance of the battery group and REV.A number of research institutes and schools have carried through many studies on the investigative experiment and evaluation issues so far, but they are not face to hybrid electric bus practice use, and only a few aspects have been involved. This paper starts from a comprehensive point of view of hybrid electric investigative experiment and BMS issues, and its contents can be described as follows:1) Submitted fuel economy and performance test specification of CA6110HEV hybrid electric bus, and data collection work has been done for analysis.2) Analysis the methodology of fuel economy and performance calculation by test researching, and find out the method to calculate hybrid electric bus fuel economy and performance. Control strategy of CA6110HEV hybrid electric bus is evaluated meanwhile.3) Drive cycle contrast analysis is made in this document, and high fuel consumption operation speed is found. Fuel consumption test method is tabled out according to the specific fuel consumption characteristics. By analyzing the data collected, real road test specification betterment recommendations are submitted. Through the operation environment analysis, functionalities of BMS are defined.4) By analyzing all factors that act on battery SOC calculation, battery SOC calculation model is established. Utilizing this model, SOC modification is made to fulfill the requirement of vehicle control.5) According to the function definition, dynamic operation state diagnosis method and thermo management model are established. System control flow chart is also map out.6) Analysis the voltage and temperature data collection system, and an advanced voltage collection blue print is adopted. Electro circuit and PCB board are designed for system integration.the paper gives structure of the battery management's hardware and software, providing theoretic base for its further research and design.
