As the wide application of massive concrete structure in the civil engineering, the calculation or control of temperature field and corresponding thermal stress in design and operation has become one of the hot aspects in the research of civil engineering. However, owing to the distribution complexities and the many influential factors of thermal stress of massive concrete structure, it is impossible to get its accurate analytic solutions in practice. As the rapid development in computing science and numerical method, nowadays there have been many computational simulation technologies that can be applied to thermal stress of massive concrete, and among them, the most wide application method is finite element method. Based on the finite element analysis, the calculations and analyses of thermal stress of massive concrete are studied in the paper, and the main researches are as follows:(1)The paper makes research to the distribution of temperature field of massive concrete from theory, and takes the theory analyses and calculations of temperature field of massive concrete structure by means of making use of the finite element analysis method.(2)Based on the achievements, the paper takes theory analyses on the dry-shrinking problem caused by the couple problem of humidity field and temperature field of massive concrete, and mainly analyzes the influences and regularities of thermal stress of massive concrete caused by the dry-shrinking problem and so on.(3)Based on the theory of thermal elastic-plasticity of massive concrete, the paper puts forward the analyses and calculating methods of thermal stress of massive concrete under the coupling influences of the various factors, such as concrete creep and concrete dry-shrinkage, and according to the basis, the constitutive model of thermal stress and strain of massive concrete is put forward, and then the thermal elastic-plastic FEM expression for thermal stress of massive concrete is established.(4)The paper takes advantage of the MIDAS to make numerical simulation analysis in a project, the general regularities of temperature field and thermal stress of massive concrete have been concluded.All in all, the results of theory analysis in the paper are identical with the results in practice, and the obtained conclusions and suggestions can be used to support theories for the rational design and operation of the massive concrete structure, and also can be used to provide references for the design and operation of the same kind of massive concrete structure. It has some important theoretical meanings and practical values.
