The problem of thermal stress field in roller compacted concrete gravity dam is more complicated scientific research in analysis of structural stress and a problem which is more concerned by technicians in engineering. Along with prevalent application of roller compacted concrete technique, the problem of thermal stress is urgently solved. Thermal stress is impacted on by a good many factors, in which elastic modulus of foundation is comparatively important factor. The foundation and dam body restrain each other , pin down one another, on the interface, the deformation of the two must be in concert and harmony. The restraint function of the foundation on the dam body relate to its own rigidity character, so, stress situation in the strong restraining from area of dam body that is near the bottom of the dam will be influenced by foundation elastic modulus.Based on the heat conduction theory, the FEA theoretical formulas of temperature field and thermal stress are deduced in this paper. 3-D finite element floating mesh method is adopted, the simulation and analysis programs of thermal field and thermal stress field in roller compacted concrete gravity dam under the condition of different foundation are compiled; the correctness of the program has been proved by using two test methods. The program can carry on material subarea, simulate and computebased on subarea. In this paper the temperature field and thermal creep stress field in roller compacted concrete gravity dam during construction and operation are simulated by an example, it' s results indicate that the program is correct and of great utility; Through two kinds of different foundation arrangement way to certain roller compacted concrete dam (along direction from upstream to downstream and along direction from dam base to dam crest) amounting to 16 computing kinds, thermal stress field is computed and its results are analyzed, the influence on thermal creep stress field in roller compacted concrete gravity dam during construction and operation under the condition of different foundation by foundation elastic modulus is are systematically studied, the distribution law have been summarized, a few conclusions with application value have been found and in order to choose to the foundation favorable to thermal stress of the dam the theoretical foundation is offered.The before-treatment system and after-treatment system of thiscomputing program are powerful and convenient because of its perfectinterface. It can be operated in windows 98/2000/XP.
