| In the 1980s, China's domestic traditional industries began to witness recession and the state-owned enterprises suffered their profit declines. In the meantime, the internationally rapid development of information industry characterized by computer popularization also brought about great shock to China's traditional industry. In order to accelerate development of high-tech industry and promote transformation of traditional industries, a large group of big and medium-sized cities have established their high-tech parks successively since the establishment of Zhongguancun Science Park for high-and-new industry development in 1988.With construction of a large number of high-tech parks in China, lots of problems also emerged. Lack of cultural connotation is one of these problems which need to be tackled urgently. From the point of view of landscape design, cultural characteristic has never been separated from design itself. Therefore, the example of Silicon Valley can not be indiscriminately imitated. The research focus of this paper is on view of the landscape design in China's high-tech parks. The conclusion is that the regional culture and corporate culture with local features should be respected so as to build a high-tech park with relations of continuity, image and ecology. |
