Significant differences occur in the mass,stiffness,period and damp ratio after adding light-weight steel storeys on the top of the lower frame structure.It is necessary to analyze the integral structure due to the unreliability of calculating the adding storeys independently.After colligating the forms and different styles of the light-weight steel adding storey,this paper analyzes the seismic-response of the integral structure.This paper has made a systematic theory analysis on the integral structure includes adding one or two storeys light-weight steel frame on two-storey,three storey,and four-storey by finite element analysis software ANSYS,in the meanwhile the damping ratio is been considered and the distortion,displacement and shearing force of the integral structure are obtained when subjected to moderate earthquake.The results show that when one storey light-weight steel frame is adding to lower frame structure,the phenomenon of whippy twig effect is not obvious.when two storeys are adding to the original structure,the first storey of adding-storey has been weakness,It should be checked by the designer.The research in this paper demonstrated that adding light-weight steel frame on the lower RC frame is rational.In addition it got the rule of force and displacement about storey-adding of light-weight steel structure,and it offers theoretical reference on the design of adding storey for designer.
