Firstly, this paper uses the thermal transferring theory to analyze the functional of steady temperature field of low speed and heavy-load gears and to build its thermal equilibrium equations. Secondly, considering the mesh peculiarity of low speed and heavy-load gears and the complicated boundary conditions in its bulk temperature field, the finite element model of gear and the thermal equilibrium equations and the boundary conditions are established to work conditions. Thirdly, the thermal physical parameters and the heat flux distributed on the meshing tooth face that are needed to calculate the bulk temperature field are calculated. Finally, the author uses ANSYS which is finite element software to analyze its temperature field. Furthermore, by changing the thermal physical parameters geometry conditions. The paper also analyze their effects on the steady state bulk temperature field of low speed and heavy-load gears, and obtains some useful conclusions.Scuffing destroy of low speed and heavy-load gears is called "cold scuffing", and there is consanguineous connection between the produce of scuffing and the diversification of temperature field. Now, there has no integrate academic system about the mechanism of cold scuffing in the international, the research of this paper will establish the foundation of cold scuffing. In addition, the analysis of temperature field provides the basic qualification of the design of carrying capacity about low speed and heavy-load gears, the analysis of modify the shape of gears, the design of lubricate system and viability of gearing. So, the study of the steady state bulk temperature field of low speed and heavy-load gears has crucial value of academic and significance of practice.
