| Clean sustainable energy is necessary for society, economy and environment. Since the 19th century, fossil resources such as oil, coal, natural gas account for ninety percents of world energy. As the development of economy and civilization of mankind, fossil reserves are gradually exhausted for growing demanding. And the use of fossil resources has been a source of environmental pollution. In order to solve the problems of environment, energy and national energy safety ultimately, the development of renewable clean energy have a high place.Energy in the form of electricity, heat, steam, and fuels can be derived from biomass through conversion methods such as direct combustion boiler and steam turbines, anaerobic digestion, co-firing, gasification, and pyrolysis. Nowadays, biological hydrogen, biodiesel and bioethanol are three main technologies for bioenergy conversion. In the thesis, international experience was summed up the first time through the analysis of policies, important R&D programs and projects of energy organizations and some major countries, so as to provide helpful information to bioenergy R&D in China. The methods of this thesis consist of fixed index structural information analysis, literature and patents bibliometrical analysis, literature search and experts consulting. The thesis consists of six parts:Part one: Introduction. Study backgrounds, contents, methods and international bioenergy distribution were introduced in this part.Part two: The measures and policies of bioenergy industry progress throughout the world. The measures and policies in U.S., Canada, E.U., Brazil India and China are compared from detailed aspects, so as to sum up some experience.Part three: Analysis of important R&D programs and projects. Some major programs and projects carried out in the countries mentioned previously are analyzed with the method of structural comparison in order to find out feature and the focus of these programs.Part four: Bibliometrical analysis of bioenergy research outputs. Some useful information, such as who are the influential scientists, which are the major institutes, what are the hot spots in research etc was revealed in this part through bibliometrical research based on the literatures and patents in EI index database and Derwent Innovation Index database. The last two parts: Hot spots summary and conclusion. The final part of the thesis pointed out the strengths and weaknesses of China in bioenergy industry progress and made some recommendations. At last is the routine of the study and follow up study discussion. |
